The award ceremony, held at Moray Collage, celebrated the achievements of athletes. Gregor Ewan and Jim Gault, Para Olympian curling Bronze medallists won the Veteran Sports Athlete Award. Unfortunately, Jim and Gregor were unable to attend the event as they are away competing this week for Great Britain.

Although they didn’t win their category, it is good to see our Club Athletes being recognised for all their efforts and being short listed for these awards.

Moray Young Citizen Award (individual category) Awards will be made to the individual young people who make an outstanding contribution to their local or to an overseas community. Any kind of positive community work will be considered, from voluntary work to showing a strong character in difficult times.

SALSC Local Service to Sport Award: Winner of this Award was Ann Rossiter from Forres for her involvement in a range of sports. Others shortlisted for this Award were Jenny Bichan from Findhorn for athletics and Monica Grant from Lossiemouth for golf. Intermediate Team Award – Joint Winners of this Category were Moray Cricket Association Girls Cricket Team and Forres Academy. Senior Team Award – The Moray Gig. The other team shortlisted for this award was Elgin Amateur Athletics Club. Coach Award – Keith Gammie from Forres in the sport 2018 Diageo sportMoray Recognition Awards. The 2018 sportMoray Recognition Awards will be taking place on Monday 29th October 2018 at Elgin Town Hall.
