I wanted to write a review of Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom as, before watching it, the reviews I'd read mostly seemed to fall into two camps. The first, warning how irredeemable and awful the film is, and the second, saying it's a masterpiece / serious work of art. Spoiler alert, I just found it to be an extraordinary and unique film. I can’t believe I held off watching it for so long.
